Center for Economics and Development Studies (or Laboratorium Penelitian, Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat dan Pengkajian Ekonomi (LP3E) in Indonesian language) is a non-profit institution under the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics, Padjadjaran University (a state-owned university). As part of the structure of the university, CEDS carries three broad missions: (1) education, (2) research, and (3) community engagement.

Our Vision

Center for Economics and Development Studies, Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics, Padjadjaran University, will become the leading research institution in the area of economics and development studies in Indonesia and establish international prominence in Southeast Asia.

Our Focus and Approach

As a research institution, we focus on producing research output with high-quality academic content in addition to more policy-oriented research. The approach will be a combination of output-motivated activities within a capacity-building framework. This aims at the dual target in term of research output as well as staffs and institutional development.

Our Targets

  • Increasing the quantity and improving the quality of research outputs
  • Enhancing and extending partnerships
  • Investing in human and research-related resources
  • Encouraging more engagement in public discourses on relevant issues
  • Establishing a leading role in Indonesia through knowledge sharing by training and research collaboration with other regional/local universities and other relevant stake-holders.

The Global Development Network invites researchers from developing and transition countries to submit new research proposals, completed research papers and proposals for scaling-up development projects.
